Reply | 27 Aug 2007, 03:04:55   Correspondence Chess Updates 8/26/07 Just a note on some updates to the new Caissa Correspondence Chess Games area: - The Annotation Function is complete! You can annotate (make notes on) individual moves in all your chess games. Just choose the Annotate tab above the board. You can annotate your current move as well as any previous move. The annotations are saved with the move and the game. Once the game is finished the annotations will be available in your Scorebook (upcoming). - New Board options! In the Corr Chess Game Configuration you can now choose a pre-designed green-and-cream color board, just like the very popular vinyl boards. But that's not all. We have also made available a "color picker" which allows you to make a board with virtually any color that exists. You can choose a color for the dark squares, light squares and border. Use the color picker tool, or if you are familiar with hexadecimal representation of colors you can enter those directly. If you want to create your board this way, make sure you choose the "Solid colors" radio button in addition to the actual colors. - On the game board screen, we have made one button more prominent and added a new button. In the upper right of the screen, the "View game list" button is more prominent. Clicking on this button brings up a scrollable mini-list of all your current games. That way you can easily scroll through current game positions, as well as jump directly to a particular game without going back to the My Games screen. We have also added a "Next game" button so that if you are on a game where you do not yet want to make a move, you can press this button to forward to the next game in your list. - We've added keyboard functionality to the game board screen. Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to scroll through the moves of a game. Use "Home" and "End" to jump to the beginning or end of a game. Use "Delete" to flip the board. Use "Page Down" and "Page Up" to move to your next or previous game. Use "Insert" to activate the Game List. Within the Game List, use the arrow keys to scroll through the list and press the "Enter" key to load a chosen game. In the coming days we will be introducing a new feature to Caissa's Web--video tutorials on how to use the site. One of the first tutorials will be a comprehensive review of all the great new features of the Correspondence Chess Games area of Caissa. Edited on 27 Aug 2007 at 08:43:12 |

There's an annoying bug with this functionality - it hijacks the keyboard while you're in the "chat to send with move" box! And while at it, what about a keyboard interface for making your move? |

When a corr game ends, we have added a "Rematch" checkbox. When you check that and acknowledge the game ending, a Corr Game challenge will be automatically sent to your opponent from that game. You can make it the best 2 out of 3! |

White: smjg Black: Kotelnik Game: Corr Chess960 Result: 0-1 (checkmate) Has it ever failed for you? I don't think it's ever worked for me. So something's strange. Database corruption? |

Everything worked correctly from your side and AdminBrian's side. You can see the declined challenges in your Corr Challenge area. So it seems to working correctly. I have never had it not work for me. PS. Sorry if you got a bunch of email notifys! Edited on 18 Sep 2007 at 15:22:54 |

I took a look at both games and it was your move in both games. Your opponent going on vacation doesn't stop your clock, you still need to either make your move or go on vacation yourself. pazuzu |

I went hiking once... It's good to see you still active after so many have left. I'll look for you in chat one of these days. Til later, G. Edited on 2 Nov 2007 at 04:46:04 |
